Economic inequality is not a new phenomenon. However, the ability to communicate effectively with people from different socioeconomic backgrounds as well as to examine parts of the world that had been previously inaccessible, has led to a rising awareness of how the gap between the “haves” and the “have-nots” is increasing at an alarming rate. The gap is further compounded with the increasing interest in where our materials are found, how our lifestyles are provided for, and by whom. In this grouping, I am exploring the conflicts inherent in these relationships – those that have too much versus those that don’t have enough, those who endlessly supply those who constantly demand, and the intricate relationship of power and money.
